Kerri Pastor, MSW, LCSW-A
Kerri enjoys helping children and young adults navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. Kerri believes that wellness and health are multidimensional and Kerri works with her clients to address all such dimensions. Kerri considers therapy to be a collaborative approach and often involves the caretakers of the clients she works with in order to help her clients meet their individual goals. The individual has the answers and solutions deep within themselves and her job is to help her clients discover the answers while providing empathy, compassion and a nonjudgmental heart.
Kerri has extensive experience and training in managing psychosocial concerns that accompany medical trauma and chronic illness in children as well as adolescents. This includes a volunteer mentorship in a hospital program for adolescents dealing with chronic and life limiting illnesses. Kerri has additional training in grief counseling and holds a certificate in posttraumatic medical stress training. Kerri's clinical internship was working at Levine Children's Hospital.
Children and adolescents who are facing physical illness, medical procedures and/or hospitalizations are often confused, frightened and anxious. Kerri provides effective, compassionate evaluation, education and counseling to help children cope with the span of their illness and medical stressors.
